I have multiple EVs at home but without a dedicated charge point installed so I’ve been using the dé EV Charger 3 Pin Plug 3kW Type 2, 7m, 6-13A and it’s made home charging so much simpler. Right away I appreciated the 7-metre cable as it gives me plenty of reach from my outdoor socket to where my car usually sits without having to juggle extension leads or awkward parking. The length is just right for most driveways and garage setups, and it feels robust without being overly bulky.
The charging performance has been reliable and consistent. I generally use it overnight, and even at 3kW it brings my battery up nicely by morning. The 6-13A range gives me flexibility depending on what socket I’m plugging into, and I’ve never felt like I’m pushing the cable beyond what it’s comfortable doing. The app connectivity is a nice bonus too — once paired, I can start, stop, and monitor charging from my phone, which is super convenient if I’m not right next to the car.
I like the carry bag and a super thoughtful addition to the product is a cleaning cloth for if the cable has got dirty or wet so you can clean/dry before putting away.
Overall, this charger strikes a great balance between simplicity and usefulness. It’s not the quickest charger out there, but for daily home charging it’s consistent, solidly built, and easy to live with. If you’re after a straightforward EV charger cable that’s long enough for most setups and offers useful app control, this one has worked really well for me.
We’ve been serious considering purchasing an electrical car and have been on several test drives, so we were eager to review this item
A really nicely presented 7kw charging wall box (made in China) which is supported by
two companion apps Tuya or Smart life which allows you to control the charging time and rate. Bear in mind though the system only runs on 2.4Ghz so you will need a compatible router.
We’ve had to wait to have it fitted as we needed additional work on our household fuse box – re an additional breaker. We had been advised that the EV charge point require a dedicated circuit under the UK Wiring Regulations BS 7671 and it is 'Notifiable Work' under Part P of Building Regulations, therefore it must be signed off and certified by a registered electrician.
On installation our electrician was very complimentary about the item and having fitted EV points on regular basis he said for the price and the interactively especially the RFID tags made this wall box very good value. The sliding detachable body and the pre-wired input cable made his said job a lot easier.
The main box features a screen at the bottom which even in bright sunlight is clear to read. The charging rate is show clearly in KW and Kw/hr and is easy to understand. One of the best features though is the companion app – although it does cover a myriad of other devices it is easy to use which makes it easy to monitor charging sessions, adjust charging current from 6A to 32A, and schedule charging during off-peak electricity hours. The RFID functionality is also a useful addition (as mentioned above) preventing unauthorised use and giving extra control over who can access the charger.
Measuring approx 30cm x 21xm with only a short profile of 10cm it doesn’t get in the way but you have to be careful where you position the box especially if you’ve purchased the shorter 7.5m charge cable – it might be worth considering where you are going install the box and the distance to your charge point on your car prior to purchasing
Backed by a 2-year warranty and support within 12 hours
Definitely 5* very impressed
Very nicely presented and equipped for mobile use or semi permanent installation. Come with cable wraps, storage case, wall mounted accessories etc… I’ve wall mounted the unit above an outdoor 13a 3pin waterproof socket. The APP (Tuya) found the device and added it to my WiFi without fuss, but I did need to create a Tuya account and verify my email address. Once this was done it allowed me to set the AMP draw from 6a-13a in one amp increments. (This was a major requirement of mine as I’m keeping the draw down to about 8amp continuous) I’ve set up the schedule for my off peak tariff, but won’t be using this for the time being as my energy supplier manages the vehicle directly over the 2g network, but good to have as a backup. Seems to charge the car, cable seems fairly robust, time will tell on longevity, its day one but so far, so good. It comes with a 16-13a adapter will pop in the boot of car but don’t see me ever using this.
de makes charging easier, smarter, and more accessible for every home.

Charging from a Schuko socket usually takes 6 to 10 hours. With compatible models, an 11 kW wallbox often reduces this to under 3 hours. Our solutions also provide intelligent protection against overheating during prolonged charging from conventional sockets. For faster charging, we recommend our mobile charging stations.
